I had to move to a new office - where I was pushed from one department to another because nobody wanted an officer who could not serve for that long (since I was waiting to deliver and then had to go to Japan). I ended up being on pool at the Human Resource department of that particular office for about a month
I gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 3.03kg and 47cm in length at birth. After some consultation, we named him Muhammad Azmi Huzaifah. The birth was alhamdulillah, okay. I was admitted to the labour room at 11.35a.m. and Huzaifah was safely delivered at 11.52a.m. It was the after-delivery experience which hurt more - had a labial haematoma and my stitches had to be opened and re-opened several times before it was finally mended by a kind Dr Chan (who, by the way, learned about my going to Japan from me while I was under sedative...)
I left KL 11 days after I gave birth - which caused lots of concern among family and friends. Yam called me Perempuan Melayu Gila Terakhir for taking such a crazy move. But furthering one's study is also part of jihad, right?...
I arrived in Japan 3 days ago. Still adjusting to the weather, still adjusting to the new environment, still adjusting to being away from my newborn son (and the spilling milk from my bosoms are not making it any easier). I've met a few kind Malaysians and made some new friends at the Graduate School of Asia Pacific Studies in Waseda University too.
Will write more later, insya Allah.
By the way, here're some pictures of my precious baby...
